Rising Above the Storms (RAS) launched a Learning Center in Rwanda in January 2017, which is an after school program to support street children. We currently have over 50 children and the number is growing. Over 200 children and their families have been impacted by our services. In addition to school materials, uniforms, & tuition fees (in Rwandan public schools), children receive therapy sessions, and much-needed basic food supplies when they visit our Center. We have also added a computer lab where our kids can learn computers and IT related skills. They also participate in soccer programs where our team has competed on a national level for the youth division. We also added vocational training options for children who are interested and have the aptitude for certain trades available in Rwanda. In 2021, our very first high school graduate received a full scholarship to college where he's wrapping up his first year. Your generosity helps us as we continue to grow and expand our programs to low income families through scholarships for high performing students. Our first cohort of 30 students to various k-12 schools in Rwanda started in September 2022.

Join us as we continue to make a lasting impact for vulnerable youth in Rwanda. At our Learning Center that currently supports over 50 children, we offer counseling sessions, warm meals, clean clothes as we help street children unite with their families or next of kin. Our team of passionate staff work hard to ensure those kids feel loved and help them get off the streets. 1:1 counseling sessions with kids and their families help our team understand the kids we work with to help them better. At our Center, they also participate in Computer learning, soccer practices and tournaments, go back to public schools in Rwanda where they are provided by our team all the resources they need to succeed. Vocational trainings are offered for those who are interested. Thank you so much for your generosity to continue make an impact for generations to come.

CONEXTalk is the leading media program for diversity and inclusion, sponsored by Conexión - Latino Network at Cisco, dedicated to giving Cisco employees of all backgrounds a platform for awareness and advocacy, with the mission of creating and Inclusive Future for All. During the program, Cisconians and keynote speakers will share their own life experiences to help encourage Cisco employees to grow professionally. CONEXTalk also gives viewers the opportunity to learn more about select nonprofits to volunteer and donate to. Any donations made by Cisco or AppDynamics employees will be matched by Cisco!
