Code 2040
Code2040's mission is to activate, connect, and mobilize the largest racial equity community in tech to dismantle the structural barriers that prevent the full participation and leadership of Black and Latinx people in the innovation economy. VISION: Our vision is the equitable distribution of power in an economy shaped by the digital revolution. PURPOSE: For this vision to come to pass, the country will need an innovation economy where Black and Latinx people are contributing at all levels in all roles, at a proportional rate to their demographics in the United States. We are here to make that happen.
The Bail Project
The Bail Project is a national nonprofit organization designed to combat mass incarceration by disrupting the money bail system — one person at a time. We believe that paying bail for someone in need is an act of resistance against a system that criminalizes race and poverty and an act of solidarity with local communities and movements for decarceration. Over the next five years, The Bail Project will open dozens of sites in high-need jurisdictions with the goal of paying bail for tens of thousands of low-income people. We won’t stop until meaningful change is achieved and the presumption of innocence is no longer for sale.
National Lawyers Guild Foundation Inc
NLGF is the 501 (c)(3) arm of the National Lawyers Guild, which is the first racially-integrated bar association and the oldest and most extensive network of social justice activists working within the legal system to support people's movements. The National Lawyers Guild’s mission is to use law for the people, uniting lawyers, law students, legal workers, and jailhouse lawyers to function as an effective force in the service of the people by valuing human rights over property interests.
National Urban League Inc.
The National Urban League is a civil rights and community-based movement enabling African Americans and other underserved urban residents to secure economic self-reliance, parity, power, and civil rights. The League's network of over 100 professionally staffed affiliates in over 36 states and the District of Columbia across the nation works to close equality gaps for people at all economic levels and stages of life, and gives citizens a chance to give back as volunteers.
