Black Girls Code Inc
In honor of Black History Month, the Black@Pivotal Community Outreach group is hosting a donation drive throughout the month of February!
Black Girls CODE (BGC) is a nonprofit organization that teaches programming and technology education to African American girls between the ages of 7-17. In September 2018, the Black@Pivotal group volunteered at a BGC Workshop in Washington, D.C., and will continue our partnership with the organization by hosting more workshops in local offices. Since then the Seattle and Los Angeles offices have raised funds for BGC and hosted workshops. Additionally, BGC was a recipient of a donation from Pivotal’s first ever Swagless Campaign at our annual conference SpringOne Platform. Our goal in continuing and strengthening this relationship is to give back to our communities and diversify our pipeline at Pivotal (now part of VMWare).
In adhering to our company values “Do what works, do the right thing, and be kind”*, we are asking for your support in donating to Black Girls CODE.
A scholarship for a young girl to attend one workshop costs $35.
