Cobalt is a critical component in rechargeable car batteries and is indispensable for the transition from fossil fuels to sustainable energy sources. Despite the Commission's zero‑tolerance approach to child labor in trade agreements, it is estimated, according to reports by UN agencies, that in the southern Katanga province, more than 40 000 children are working in hazardous conditions in cobalt mines, with inadequate safety equipment and for very little money. It is estimated that 20% of the mines in the DRC are small-scale and use mostly child workers. These children, aged between 3 and 17, have to work in appalling and dangerous conditions, usually barefoot. They protect refugees and communities under direct threat by conducting extractions, providing security escorts, and working to find creative solutions to protect the innocent. Their teams serve local families by providing frontline emergency medical care and training, while also delivering situation-specific humanitarian relief. Over time, They organize and train teams of locals to provide medical care and conduct their own humanitarian relief operations with minimal outside help. We call this “Charity With Dignity.”

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is changing the way they accept toys and gifts for children and families spending the holidays in the hospital. Help me make the holidays special for these children through a tax-deductible donation in support of the Child Life, Education and Creative Arts Therapy team at CHOP. This special team provides care and support year-round to children and families in the hospital. With thousands of children visiting CHOP every year, the Child Life team has an ongoing need for toys, craft supplies, books, video games and movies. In the absence of an in-person toy drive this year, the Child Life Department depends on monetary donations to provide holiday gifts to the many children spending the season in the hospital. In partnership with Asian Americans for Community Involvement (AACI), CAAN is hosting a holiday fundraising drive to help bring holiday cheer this season to many low-income families. This includes families of survivors of domestic violence, refugees, foster youth and other low-income clients AACI serves. Our goal this year is to raise funds to provide gifts for approximately 700 children that AACI serves. Our hope is for each child to receive a $25 gift card which will allow the children to choose their own gifts and for families to have a stronger sense of autonomy when it may be difficult for them to accept help. Every $25 equates to a holiday gift for one child. Your gifts enables the families to feel the magic of the holidays with their little ones amidst these challenging times. The holiday drive will run from now to December 15 and every dollar donated will be matched by Cisco!

The Persons with Developmental Problems Assistance Foundation came into possession of a plot of land (731 sq.m.) with a three-storey house located on it with a built-up area of 116.83 sq.m. and total built-up area of 614 sq.m., at 4 Kosta Petrunov Str., Slatina district in Sofia, consisting of a semi-underground, first, second, third attic floor and established gratuitous right of use, granted by Sofia Municipality for a period of 10 years. In it the team plans to create, equip and develop an enriched complex service with innovative management, including a day-care center for children and adults with developmental problems and a social enterprise. Autistic individuals need a variety of appropriate forms of support throughout their lives. Therefore, it is necessary to develop and implement individual projects for independent living for each of them. Our foundation pays the necessary attention to the group dynamics in order to build an interpersonal relationship and at the same time relationships in the social environment. It is known that in Bulgaria there is no network organization of services for people with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) at all ages. Therefore, one of the guiding principles in the management of our organization is to ensure the continuity of services for children, youth and adults. The organization is currently working with the Autism - Education, Future and Opportunities Association. In the House the organization will further develop and upgrade the model "Workshop for the development of cognitive skills and increase the capacity for autonomy", as well as Dance-Motor Therapy for Psychosomatic Development. It will apply innovative management, continuously and long-term, so that it can simultaneously meet social needs and create new social relationships and cooperation. Working with parents and siblings is another key moment in its planned activities. The effect of therapies and rehabilitation for people with developmental problems is insufficient if it is not integrated with psycho-social interventions with the whole family. Another important goal of the organization is the creation of supported employment, employment support, and social enterprise for its users. It already has a working creative studio in ceramics, Art and Jump Workshop. We plans to develop resilience and create work skills in the field of applied arts for young people with disabilities. In the premises of the House, the Foundation will provide the following licensed social services (under the Social Services Act, Art. 15): 1. informing and consulting; 2. advocacy and mediation; 3. community work; 4. therapy and rehabilitation; 5. training for acquiring skills; 6. support for acquiring work skills; 7. day care; The organization plans to provide both mobile social services and services in the home environment. Its functionalist approach to the process of constructing the social services it provides is related to the use of new tools (management, work organization, combination of resources, etc.), with a change in the relationship between it as a service provider and consumers, as well as with the integration of services and the implementation of a multidisciplinary approach with high consumer and public resonance. In many African countries the food and clean water crisis is extreme. Most people eat just one meager meal a day, if at all. Hungry children do not attend school. Providing food for nutritious meals and clean water to these starving households will shield the children from malnutrition and enable them to attend school and learn valuable skills for a productive future.

To help Foster Families and Organizations Impacted By Hurricane Ian. Friends of Foster Children Forever: Our Mission To focus on the children we serve with targeted educational and enrichment opportunities that allow each child to fulfill their potential. Our Goal Of all the children in our community, foster children are the most at-risk of failure. A contributing factor is that at least 80 percent are removed from their homes due to their parents’ substance abuse and/or neglect. There are approximately 300 children in the foster care system in Collier County and only 88 licensed foster homes. In addition, only 50 percent of foster children graduate high school, and only 4 percent graduate college. Friends of Foster Children Forever strives to fulfill the needs of children in the foster care system throughout Collier County.

We aim to provide Christmas boxes to the 200 most needy families in Gilgil, Kenya. These boxes for 8 to 10 people will contain : • 1 kg of rice • Tea • Flour • Butter Something to cook, for those families who won't give themselves presents under a pretty Christmas tree, a good meal for the end of the year celebrations.
